A small hand dyed mat which beautifully illustrates some of the colours achieved using authentic, plant-derived indigo dye. Woven in Tochigi prefecture, unevenness and complexity of hue are part of its natural character, which will beautifully offset a timber or ceramic piece.

Unevenness and complexity are part of its natural character. Unlike synthetic dye, you can expect some indigo to transfer to lighter surfaces- even your skin- so take care during the first 5 washes.
Air dry in the shade and only wash in cold water by itself. Never spot clean, and iron the reverse with a cool iron (if you wish).
