Tokoname Ware : ceramic vase

A hand-built cylindrical ceramic vase, with a rough, uneven rim and a splatter glaze effect. A beautiful way to display a single stem, loose arrangement, or as a textural accent in an arrangement of small ceramics.

The city of Tokoname is synonymous with Japanese ceramics and has a pottery tradition reaching back more than one thousand years. Many of Tokoname's potters have been named Living National Treasures by the Japanese government.
