Shigaraki Ware : ceramic vase

This small handmade ceramic basket vase will hold a loose floral arrangement, but equally handy for housing pens, paint brushes, or chopsticks. 

Shigaraki ware is made in Shigaraki Town, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture. The region is counted as one of the six oldest pottery producing areas in Japan. The pottery produced there is characterised by its warm colour and highly textured finish, and remains a popular choice for table ware and decorative items.
