Tokoname Ware : ceramic vase

A small, sturdy, narrow ceramic vase. Hand-formed, with a rough rim and subtly speckled glaze, this vase is ideal for single stems, loose foliage, or simply as a thing of sculptural beauty.

The city of Tokoname is synonymous with Japanese ceramics and has a pottery tradition reaching back more than one thousand years. Many of Tokoname's potters have been named Living National Treasures by the Japanese government.
