art of play : Eames kite playing cards
Designed by Art of Play in close collaboration with the Eames office, these cards are a tribute to the timeless sensibilities of Charles & Ray Eames.
Eames "Kite" Playing Cards take inspiration from a tissue-paper kite designed by Charles Eames in 1950. The simplicity of form and whimsical color-scheme were drawn directly from the original artifact, a high-design toy that reminds us to “Take your pleasure seriously.”
Packaged in a luxurious letterpress-printed tuck box with the design referencing the famous home built by Charles and Ray, a creative base where they lived for many years. This marvellous set was sustainably produced, making an ideal deck for idiosyncratic collectors, card sharps, and art lovers alike.
