Kasuri : letti dress
This slip on statement piece offers a classic, full silhouette that's perfect for day wear with sandals, or layered with long sleeves or a light jacket on cooler evenings. The letti dress is exquisitely tailored, with cascading diagonal panels of kasuri cotton showcasing the dying technique with a loose bamboo leaf design. Tapered side panels create a subtle flare from the waist and conceal deep side-inseam pockets, while a crossover neck opening, french seams, and curved rear yoke with facing give structure to the bodice.

Woven and constructed in Fukuoka since 1971, Kurume Kasuri (aka Giemon) aim to modernise a traditional weaving style which has a history in Japan reaching back over 220 years.
Kasuri (絣) is a process of skilfully binding warp and/or weft threads before they are indigo dyed. Once woven, undyed sections create complex and distinctive patterns, often with soft or 'blurred' edges; the verb kasureru (かすれる) means "to blur" or "to fade".
In 1957, the traditional techniques of Kurume Kasuri were designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan, and the company is proud to preserve this beautiful tradition with simple designs for daily use.
