Originally designed to confuse, bemuse and otherwise entertain anyone who tried to open them, Japanese trick boxes are often crafted with elaborate sliding openings and creative movable parts. Extraordinarily hand made using the traditional Japanese marquetry technique known as yosegi-zaiku, the lid of this elegant vintage box slides open with a gentle pull on the drawer tab, functioning as a delightful and surprising hiding place for all your trinkets and treasures
