shipshapes : little wooden boat

Marc Prince

It's never too late for a new adventure, and in his 80th year Tasmanian maker Marc Prince has quietly launched this fleet of charming maritime miniatures. Each little boat is entirely hand carved from salvaged balsa wood, gently sanded, and topped with a white cotton sail in Marc's Hobart workshop.

These make a sweet addition to a bedside or windowsill, and will lift the spirits of anyone who dreams of escape, or loves the ocean. Incredibly lightweight (and easy to post), each boat balances upright on a flat surface, or could be held in place with a tiny amount of blutak.

Please note that dimensions vary between 3.5 - 6 cm stern to bow, and every boat is slightly different. If you would like a smaller or larger boat you may leave a note in the comments section and we can try to select a pleasing size for you.
