sandy lockwood : jug
by Sandy Lockwood
Based in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, master ceramicist Sandy Lockwood creates poetic works which express the inherent qualities of the clays she chooses. Working with salt glazes and wood fired kilns fed by Australian eucalyptus, the intriguing range of nuanced surface textures and fluid forms she achieves is a testament to her practiced hands and refined aesthetic.
A joyfully irregular form with a fine lip, this imperfect jug is a perfect partner to one of Sandy Lockwood’s teapots or cups. Salt glazed and wood fired in Limoges porcelain, it achieves a balance between the clay’s characteristic translucent beauty and vitrified strength.
Safe to wash in the dishwasher as well as the old fashioned way.
