lotta : small vintage meisen pouch

A veritable library of Japanese Meisen silks inspires the work of Keiko Aoki, new to the maker this week. More than a collector of vintage kimono (she has over 2000, but who's counting?), Keiko has an eye for the spectacular colours and Art Deco influenced motifs of the Taisho and early Showa Eras. Textile tragics will delight in bringing these fragments of original, hand woven radiance into the light of everyday...

Sized for handy daily use and meticulously sewn, this simple design showcases a central panel of Japanese meisen silk, reinforced with topstitched grosgrain ribbon and wrapping right around the bag. These beautiful feature fabrics are a pleasure to hold and encounter every time you reach for your sunglasses, pens, mints or other daily essentials. Finished with a contrasting accent zip with pull, Lotta's  workmanship will see this strong but lightweight bag accompany you for many years, or make a memorable gift for the textile enthusiast or traveller dreaming of Japan.
