lotta : large vintage meisen pouch

$49.00 $98.00

A veritable library of Japanese Meisen silks inspires the work of Keiko Aoki, new to the maker this week. More than a collector of vintage kimono (she has over 2000, but who's counting?), Keiko has an eye for the spectacular colours and Art Deco influenced motifs of the Taisho and early Showa Eras. Textile tragics will delight in bringing these fragments of original, hand woven radiance into the light of everyday...

Generously sized and meticulously sewn, this simple design showcases a central panel of Japanese meisen silk, reinforced with topstitched grosgrain ribbon and wrapping right around the bag. These stunning feature fabrics add a colourful accent to the textile lover's wardrobe, the bag fuctioning as a clutch purse or capacious utility bag for diaries, phones, sunglasses and more. Finished with a contrasting accent zip with pull, Lotta's  workmanship will see this strong but lightweight bag accompany you for many years!
