highhorse : kokeshi brooch

by H I G H H O R S E

The work of Hobart maker and illustrator Helena Shipway, Highhorse earrings are a playful way to display your love of arty colour pairings and bold graphic design. Each unique piece is 100% hand-drawn and hand-cut, using coloured pencil and strong, lightweight acrylic for comfortable, colour-rich wear.

Inspired by the character and decorative heritage of vintage Japanese kokeshi dolls, these unique brooches are each individually hand drawn by designer and illustrator Highhorse. With no two designs identical, your tiny traveller bears a memorable note of gentle nostalgic charm, and attaches to a scarf or lapel with a sturdy non-locking silver plated brooch pin.

This collection is 100% hand-drawn and hand-cut, using coloured pencil and strong, lightweight acrylic. In the construction of each Highhorse piece, colour is concentrated and embedded in the sanded acrylic surface, and later topped with multiple coats of permanent matte varnish.
