LJ struthers : caya cotton gallery duster
the heritage project 2023
The gallery duster is a lightweight, longline jacket with a simple, unstructured opening and two side inseam pockets. Its subtle cocoon shape is created by box pleats in the deep hem, and cuffed sleeves keep the silhouette light and dynamic. With its open, buttonless style, the gallery duster is a perfect outer shell to show your beautifully composed layers.
This gallery duster has been carefully constructed with antique caya fabric from Japan. A traditional mesh-like cotton originally used as mosquito netting, caya makes a wonderfully textured and airy layering piece, embellished here with hand-stitched mending and binding.
