Each of us wants different things- specific and personal - from our wardrobes. But the desire to align your exterior presentation with your inner convictions is common to us all.
lj struthers in 2020 shows you trend-proof, interesting pieces which speak to your creative self (hint- that's your best self!) Layers you can lean on for year-round feel-goods -cut and sewn here in Hobart- but also those exquisite fabrics which inspire you to play up the bold and irreverent, stretch your styling muscles and put the creative back into Creative Professional...
Some of us can't resist the simplicity promised by a haiku lunar jacket- no buttons, no collar, with clever cropped sleeves so it's not overwhelming - an instant hit of saturated mustard will do amazing things when paired with all kinds of other shades. Or perhaps you prefer the easy drama of a striped gallery duster? This fabric! Its pattern is punctuated by textured tufts of cut weave, the kind of subtle, luxurious detail that sets you apart. Quietly.
Gentle greys keep all these colour contrasts warm, complex and interesting-in-a-good way - no bright top + black-pants here. You'll find both these greys in our cambridge and archer styles, depending on the fit you prefer.
Longer than a smock, with less volume than a dress, our quadro and lunar tunics hit mid-thigh: always in demand with layer-loving folks who feel exposed in shorter cuts. We have quiet grey and navy linens online now, as well as a confident, oversized check (the ultimate bad mood crusher). Both these styles have pockets, naturally.
Please don't stop wearing dresses as we catch a glimpse of Autumn- or for the sake of modest knees! Trill and quadro dresses will surprise you with their versatility, offering a range of edgy but relaxed silhouettes paired with linen pants, jeans or tights (and of course, your heroic white shirt). Keep it underdone with a graphic shoe from Booker & co, a cute lace up oxford, or your favourite beat up canvas sneakers.
And here's our year-in, year-out favourite fabric, a hemp/linen blend with goldilocks status: not too heavy, not too light, it has the rumpled texture and body of hemp with the drape and luxe, weighty flop of linen. Plays nice 12 months of the year, just add your go-to merino under layers when it's cool. If you're new to lj struthers, a lunar smock or pair of pants in hemp linen is definitely the place to start your Tasmanian made wardrobe...
So most of these pieces will easily take you from breakfast at the market, to work, to school pick ups - comfort and functionality matter. But there's always a place in our closet for something a little more elevated, like this sophisticated trill, or a fun, head-to-toe monochrome statement. Stack up some Tabito or Elassaad hardware, make an entrance (or exit), and leave an impression!
We absolutely love it when you tag us in your selfies #myljstruthers and drop us a line on any platform if we can help, or want to share your thoughts. Stay creative, stay curious and stay in touch!
